experience conservative dentistry

Ai-Lien Sperry, DMD launched this Renton Highlands dentistry in 1999 with the mission of helping patients live healthy & pain-free lives. She sticks to reasonably priced dental services and a conservative philosophy to suggest only what is healthiest and cost-effective for the patient.

Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.

Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health.

During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. Then, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have. At your next visit, one of our hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, checking your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.

Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment:

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

We understand that you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit the dentist, please remember that your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Digital X-rays

Using the most advanced dental technology possible is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Because our practice is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available, we utilize advanced digital X-ray technology in our office.

Digital X-rays provide several advanced imaging options designed to save time, provide clearer dental photos, and expose patients to less radiation than traditional X-ray technology.

Our practice is focused on making your dental experience as comfortable as possible. At your next appointment, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about our digital X-ray technology.

Intraoral Camera

You know the importance of prevention when it comes to your dental health, and we’re always looking for new, improved ways to help you achieve a healthy smile for life. While X-rays provide valuable information, they don’t give a complete view of everything that is going on inside your mouth. With the use of an intraoral camera, we can see every aspect of your teeth and mouth with incredible detail, uncovering cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, and excessive wear. When we can discover oral problems early on, your treatment is much less invasive and much more cost effective.

Our intraoral camera is small, about the size of the mirror we use during your regular hygiene appointments. You probably wouldn’t even notice we’re using it, except that with the intraoral camera, you have the opportunity to see everything we see on a monitor. This is a great tool to help you become more informed about your dental health, as it gives you a clear understanding of your teeth’s condition, and it allows you to make a more informed decision regarding your treatment options.

Digital CT Imaging

Digital CT imaging systems allows your doctor to provide quick, comfortable, and effective dental imaging for the most precise dental health diagnosis possible. Digital technology provides 3D data for dental implants, wisdom teeth extractions, impactions, TMJ treatment, airway assessments and sleep apnea, and full facial and jaw 3D images.

You can take advantage of a more complete dental treatment with digital CT imaging. Our office is pleased to offer digital CT imaging for patients who receive dental treatment. Come and see for yourself what it’s like to receive a more advanced, patient-friendly dental experience.

Digital Impressions

No more goop, gagging, or discomfort. Using the latest in digital technology, your dentist can take a highly accurate digital impression of your teeth. The new technology ensures a more accurate impression from the start, resulting in improved treatment and a more comfortable patient experience. Digital impressions give you the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D, improving communication during the consultation and treatment process.

Our digital impression scanner captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand. Once your dentist begins the scanning process, it can be stopped and started as many times as necessary.

Your mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser, and in as little as two to three minutes, renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you’ll then be able to follow the progress of the scans including a three-dimensional model of your teeth on our computer screen. Digital impressions can be used for any restorative treatment including crowns, veneers, inlays/onlays, bridges, implants, and orthodontic treatments, including Invisalign®.

Limited Dental Warranty

Our practice is proud of the dentistry that we provide for you and your family. Our goal is not to just correct any dental problems you may have, but to show you how to prevent dental disease in the future to save you time and unnecessary expense. The long term success of the dental treatment we provide for you depends upon your continuing home care of your teeth and gums, regular professional exams, cleanings and fluoride treatments. The products recommended by us for you and the frequency of those professional recare visits depends on your individual condition. Those visits may be every 2, 3, 4, or even 6 months apart depending on your oral health. With that in mind we offer the following limited dental warranties:

Composite (Tooth Colored) Fillings

If a composite restoration is the recommended treatment of choice, we will replace or repair it in the event of failure for a period of 2 years following the procedure. If the tooth breaks and requires a crown or onlay during this same time period, we will credit the cost of the filling towards the crown or onlay. You must keep the prescribed regular recall appointments in order to maintain this warranty (minimum every 6 months); you must also complete all other treatment prescribed by your dentist in order to maintain this warranty.

Crowns, Bridges, Inlays, Onlays, and Porcelain Facings

We will warranty these most comprehensive procedures for a full 5 years. We will replace or repair them at no charge during this five years period if they break, are lost, or fracture with normal use (this does not include accidents that could break normal healthy teeth). You must keep the prescribed regular recall appointments in order to maintain this warranty (minimum every 6 months); you must also complete all other treatment prescribed by your dentist in order to maintain this warranty.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

We will warranty dentures and partials for a period of 2 years if a tooth chips or breaks, or a flange breaks under normal use. This warranty does not cover accidents such as dropping your dentures. Full upper and lower denture patients must be seen once every 12 months. Patients with some of their own natural teeth must be seen at the prescribed recall appointments in order to maintain this warranty (minimum every 6 months); you must also complete all other treatment prescribed by your dentist in order to maintain this warranty.

Note: As you can see, we are confident of the durability of our treatment as prescribed for you. The primary key to your long term success is spending a few minutes a day on your home care, brushing, flossing, fluoride and prescribed products. The second key to success is regular professional examinations, cleaning, x-ray films and fluoride treatment (2, 3, 4, and 6 month intervals depending on your condition). This warranty does not cover accidents that cause damage to the teeth or dental prosthesis. Failure to have these regular visits with our office voids all warranties. Help us to help you maintain your teeth for a lifetime.

Insurance & Dental Coverage

Out of a thousand dentists to choose from, what are the odds your gut instinct gets it right? The answer: next to none. Conservative dentistry that protects the patients have fallen to the wayside to practices that sell glamour and expensive upsells. Ai-Lien Sperry, DMD uses decades of experience to find the surest path to dental health. That doesn't break your bank.
